Much of my work involves creating a composed scene to express a concept

study of ‘self’ & self-actualization : building identity through research, reflection & personal expression & identity

I attempt to capture a moment in time or an illustrated concept in an organized way - through my perspective, authentic to my taste, and rooted in my beliefs.

The color palette exists to allow visual art even in the case of being blind - not to manifest this possible loss, but to be aware of my privilege

I am deeply influenced by both White and Black culture, being brown I find it beautiful is very beneficial

I am 100% Algerian, as I am a made-in-USA product of my parents immigrating to here.

I strive daily to find ways in which I could be ignorant, all while trying my best to push through with wise convictions.

I’ve accepted to be very defensive in personality, as I have a lot to defend and fight for every day.

Many judge and are quick to talk and poison your existence, your name, without seeking understand beyond a first impression.

The desire to ‘cancel' another person is deeply rooted in colonist behavior and pure laziness.

The flip side in benefitting from being in a middle-ground is not being able to identify and herd with as many like-minded people that have similar journeys or origins as me.

I am grateful

All privileges that were directly or indirectly passed upon to me are for me to become aware of, recognize, and transmute into an output for all to benefit from.

I think I normalized and numbed myself to many abnormal things.

It’s obviously not a traumatic experience that would make me stop making the same mistakes \\

The name is Asaad Bruno - AB, for ease.

I am the eldest son of 1st generation Algerian immigrants, born and raised in the East Bay of California; I moved with my family and lived in the South of France from the age of 11-18.

My early interests mainly centered on athletics - swimming ; soccer/futbol ; Tae-Kwon-Do ;

  • Artistic journey began in typography and graffiti around age 13, producing intricate pieces on walls, paper & canvas, & eventually transfer-printed on to t-shirts.

  • Fashion journey

My practical knowledge and abilities to create expanded with studies in fashion design, when I moved to South Florida at age 18. During my studies, until and after graduation, I immersed myself in the working creative industry while I developed a foundation for ‘à l’aise’ - a lifestyle philosophy, translating into experimental products I’d create mainly for my friends and family. At that time I heavily explored surface design of textile & clothing customization, mainly denim jeans. I eventually became proficient in doing basic/custom alterations, repairs, and customization while working as a denim tailor for Levi’s - there I discovered chain-stitch/chenille embroidery, an analog practice that allowed me to reach a full-circle in his creative identity in producing personalized items with functional art pieces. Beyond craftsmanship, the experience of in-store consumer servicing while simultaneously sewing was extremely enriching as a professional retail experience. Previous work opportunities also brought me to explore graphic design, screen-printing, art direction & interior design.  Always avid in philosophy (20/20 baccalaureate), I then began to truly develop my identity at age 20, discovering and building spirituality in solitude, with many personal development experiences such as discovering Vipassana & doing the 10-day sit. This retreat & practice guided me to the study of ‘self’, by cultivating genuine, personal expression & identity, while growing a broader, yet always innate, devotion to sustainability and community service. Serving humanity by raising my consciousness and developing useful creative skills, has become the foundation of my actualized purpose ever since - I search for inner meaning, and to see life with intentional taste & perspective, aware of my surroundings on both a micro/macro level - through efficient process and intelligent organization. I cultivate a valuable ability to mindfully generate innovative ideas, developing clever concepts using whatever resources at hand. On a visual level - my eye captures what is most organic which I try to present in the most honest way possible, true to my identity as it evolves.

Today, I find myself moving through the liminal space of self-actualization and entrepreneurship, working to materialize my ideas. I find my greatest obstacle to be my own self - demons & darkness to be fought with light - all with good decisions. The framing of my mind asserts mental inception - being a spectator of my own life. Depersonalization, or separation of self, is something I’ve allowed myself with time to integrate into my creative process. I find the ability to zoom in & out, as a key function of the mind, something I require expresing through different outlets. In that sense, my work is therapeutic, embracing how my mind works. I seek to be the person my younger self would be inspired & guided by, not as an example, but an experienced reflection.

Greater Goals

I would like to broadcast certain things on a greater scale, having greater resources to execute ideas better, and bigger.

I am very adapt with everything I’ve come across in terms of resources thus far. I’ve made a lot out of nothing. I believe and have proof that with a that the right coaching paired with financial stimulus can truly allow me to reach a true level of actualization of fulfilling my purpose in doing amazing things for humanity and the Earth. I believe that with a first true influx of support I can launch myself to point of no longer needing fundamental support, but mores assistance in scaling projects. My goal is self-sufficiency, but I realize that I need help to achieve this. However I know once I am self-sufficient I can give back and help others become self-sufficient as well.

I am seeking specific people that appeal to my ambitions and crafts at hands. I would also like to appeal to people in position to help through my mental and physical capacities proven through my portfolio.

Im looking for someone to sponsor me as a creative entrepreneur, artist/designer, tailor & consultant - funding to support living expenses, travel & project development. I’m also calling forcoaching, mentorship and networking opportunities out of this patronage.

Seeking Funding/to be financially sponsored as a creative entrepreneur to support project/product development and living/travel expenses.

I would like to execute my ideas better in order to scale and bring my visions to life.

Current Self-Evaluation

On a visual level - my eye captures what is most organic which I try to present in the most honest way possible, true to my identity as it evolves

The framing asserts a mental inception - being spectator of my own life. This depersonalization, or separation of self, is something I’ve allowed myself with time to integrate in my creative process. I find the ability to zoom in & out, In that sense, my photo/video work is therapeutic, embracing how my mind works.

I seek to be the person my younger self would be inspired by guided by, not as an example, but an experienced reflection.
